Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 16th January 2025

This week 36 players took part in the Thursday 2-4-2.  Before going out to play Peter Hyland informed members of a General Meeting to be held on the 30^th  January after 2-4-2.  He also informed all players to put a team in for the Herb Henderson Memorial Open Men’s Mours to be played on the 26^th January.  The day is fully catered.  There will be no 2-4-2 game on Thursday the 23^rd  January due to a funeral being held at the club.
The winning team for the day was, Derrick Lindh and John Buhlmann with a very good score of 35+35.  Runners- up was the team of Malcolm Wright and Brian Goode with a score of 34+19.
Other winning teams for the day were, Barry Smith, Ian Ross 33+24. Derk Pietersma, Rob Chambers 33+15. Chris Earl, Peter Scanlon 32+12. John Drew, Steve Carnellor 31+6. John Eldridge, Jim Campbell 31+6. Peter Dunnicliff, David Taylor 31+4 and Gary Wilson, Iain Campbell 31+2.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 9^th January 2025

This week 32 players took part in the 2-4-2 game in very windy conditions. The winning team for the day and taking home $32.00 each, were Peter Bateman and Heather Carthew with a score of 36+27.  Runners- up went to the team of Terry Lonergan and Iain Campbell with a score 33+13.
Other winning teams were: Garth Baker, David Taylor 32+12. Chris Earl, Derek Bowering 32+8. Peter Dunnicliff, John Scudds 32+7. Ian Ross, Ros Varcoe 31+7. Jan Buhlmann, Jim Campbell 30+5 and Richard Coote, Steve Skeer 29+4.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2played on 2^nd January

The Millicent Bowls Club held their first 2-4-2 game for 2025 on a lovely Summer’s day with a little wind but not enough to upset the bowling. 30 players took part in the game played over 20 ends.  Two teams of triples were required.
The over-all winners for the day, with a very good score of 35+10 shots up, were John Madden and John Scudds, taking home $30.00 each for the win. Second place, with a score of 33+20 shots wereDavid Taylor and Peter Varcoe.
Other winning teams for the day were, a triple of Dale Little, Jim Campbell and Peter Dunnicliff with a score of 33+9. Ros Varcoe, Brian Goode 32+1. Faye Hill, Eddie Hann 31+3. Iain Campbell Bryan Roper 21+0. Aaron Emonson, Kym Stewart 19+0. Joy Warren, Terry Lonergan 22+0 and Barry Smith, Steve Skeer 18+0.
On Saturday the 11th January, the Championship Singles are to be played names can still be put on the sheet for this very important competition

Teams are now starting to come in for the Herb Henderson Memorial Day, 26^th January 2025.    

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 19th December

Lovely Summer’s afternoon and  26 players turned out to play 20 ends of bowls.  Before going out to play, Steve Skeer informed players that the club Championship Fours would be played on Sunday 4^th January Singles on the 11th of January 2025.
The winning team for this week’s 2-4-2 was Andre Reinders and Chris Earl with a very good score of 35+18 shots up winning $26.00 each.  Second place, winning a $5.00 bar voucher were Joy Warren and Peter Scanlon with a score of 32+18 on a count back from Frank Cooper and Brian Goode also with a score of 32+18.

Other winning teams were, Peter Bateman, John Scudds 32+13.  Peter Hyland, Brian Roper 31+6 and  triple of Ros Varcoe, Malcolm Wright and Peter Dunnicliff 30+7.

Steve Skeer asked for a show of hands as to a game being played on Thursday 26^th December 2024 and only 3 people voted in favour, so there will be no game played on that day.  

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 , 21^st November

This week in rather warm conditions, 28 players took part in the competition.  Due to the temperature ,instead of playing the full 20 ends the game was cut back to 15 ends.
The team coming in first and winning the $28.00 prize pool was Ian Ross and Steve Carnellor with a score of 30+10.  Runners-up,  with a score of 30+8 was the team of Terry Barnes and Steve Skeer.
Other winning team for the day were, Rob Chambers, Frank Cooper 29+11. Jean Smith, Andre Reinders 29+5. Garth Baker, Peter Varcoe 28+5. John Madden, Neil Whelan 27+2 and a draw between Peter Dunnicliff, Eddie Hann,  with 10 points and Chris Earl, Bryan Roper also finishing on 10points.
It has been requested that if you are unable to play any Pennant games and you have been selected  to play, please make contact with the Contact Person shown on the team sheet.  This has not been happening. 

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 14^th November

This week numbers were down with only 24 players taking part in the competition, perhaps due to a lot of bowls being played in the South East Region.
The winning team for this week was, Malcolm Wright and a visitor from Beachport, Dale Little, with a score of 32+14.  Runners up, with a score of 31+9 were Graham Loveday and Neil Whelan.
Other winning teams for the day were, Steve Skeer, John Buhlman 31+0. Joy Warren, David Crase 30+11. Frank Cooper, Andre Reinders 30+7 and
Peter Dunnicliff, Rod Gibbs 30+3. 

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 – 31st October

This week the Millicent 2-4-2 number were down slightly with 26 players taking part in the game.  Before going out to play Steve Skeer reminded players of the Championship Pairs to be played on the 24^th of November.  Steve also welcomed Lesley Wisneske a visitor from Murrayville.
This week’s winners with a very good score of 35+17, were to Denis Clifford and Neil Whelan taking home the prize pool of $26.00.  In second place was a triple, Orr Grosvenor, Graham Attiwell and John Scudds finishing with a score of 34+9.
Other winning teams for the day were, Rob Chambers, Andre Reinders 32+3. Derek Bowering, Eddie Hann 31+1. Phil Keatley, John Drew 31+1 and Garth Baker, Peter Varcoe 29+1.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 24th October

This week 32 players took part in the 2-4-2 game in very cold, windy and sometimes wet conditions.  Before going out on the greens, Kym Stewart reminded players of the Open Fours and Pairs to be played on Sunday November 3^rd starting at 9-00am and would like to see a couple more team register for the day.
The team winning today, with a score of 34+13 was Sam Schofield and Ian Ross winning $32.00 each, in second place with a score of 33+14 and winning the $5.00 Bar Voucher, were Andre Reinders and Neil Whelan.
Other winning teams for the day were, Graham Loveday, Brian Goode 32+12. Garth Baker, Bryan Roper 32+12. Frank Cooper, Chris Earl 31+3. Bill Mullan, Peter Varcoe 30+5. Malcolm Wright, John Scudds 29+1. Steve Skeer and John Drew 10+0, drawing with Peter Bateman and Derek Bowering 10+0 and scoring 18 shots each for the game.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 17^th October

This week, in very humid conditions for the South East, 27 players took part in the competition, also Night Bowls kicks off for the season next Wednesday night the 23^rd with 2 practice nights before getting into the serious bowling.
This week’s winners for the 2-4-2 went to the team of Brian Goode and Denis Clifford with a great score of 36+27 shots up.  Second place with a score of 34+13 went to Terry Lonergan and Steve Carnellor.
Other winning teams for the day were, a triple of Glen Tilley, Malcolm Wright, Peter Scanlon 32+18 .Peter Dunnicliff, Iain Campbell 31+3. John Madden, Derek Bowering 30+1.Jim Taylor, John Scudds 20+13 and another triple Phil Keatley, Derk Pietersma, Rod Gibbs 20+13.
The club also wished long time bowls member David Botting a very big Happy Birthday for his 90^th birthday this week.   

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played 10^th October

This week again a good number of bowlers turned out to take part in the game with 40 players registering to play.  Before going out on the greens, Kyn Stewart Tournament Director, asked players to get teams together for the Open Tournament of Pairs and Fours to be played on November 3rd and also the Men’s and Ladies Triples to be played on the 20^th October.
The winning rink this week with a very good score of 35+26 shots up, only losing 5 of the 20 ends was Joy Warren and John Madden  taking home  $40.00 each, in second place with a score of 33+21 were Steve Skeer and Marcus Pietersma winning the $5.00 bar voucher.

Millicent Bowls Club 2-4-2 played on 3^rd October

This week in rather warm conditions 40 players took part in the afternoon bowls competition.  Before going out onto the greens, Steve Skeer informed players of the Men’s Triples Championship to be played on the 20^th of October and Night Bowls clicks into gear with a practice night starting on the 23rd October.  It will be great to see the greens full again with all the night bowls players back in action.
The winning team for this week with a great score of 37+27,was Frank Cooper and Robert Coote.  Runners-up, also with a very good score of 35+22, were John Madden and Peter Scanlon.
